This year the annual Conference of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department took place on 6th of June, included in the BioRecerca- UABio Conference, at the Faculty of Biosciences of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
In this Edition, Dr. Antonio Zorzano from Institut de Recerca Biomèdica (IRB) gave the Opening lecture entitled: “Mitochondrial function and its role in the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes”.
Moreover, two members of Sauralab actively participated in the Conference. Carlos Soto, a first-year PhD Student, debuted by defending the Poster: “Loss of Presenilin function results in age-dependent tau phosphorylation”.
In addition, Miriam Javier, a third-year PhD Student, gave a talk presenting her last results on the project: “Presenilin-1 regulates axon growth in hippocampal neurons”, which was awarded as the Best Oral communication.
